Purpose

   The project will build the knowledge and capacities of the relevant target groups to implement the new Law on Water in the basin of the first grade tributary of Nistru River – Raut river, by implementing a range of activities, which will involve the participation of all the 12 districts situated in the Raut River Basin, including 1 municipality

Main activities

• Promotion of the implementation of the new Law on Water of Moldova from 26 October 2013 which was developed according to the provisions of the EU Water Framework Directive of 2000.
• Raising the level of public information and awareness on the environmental state of Raut river, identifying its main pollution sources but also ways to improve the water quality and quantity in Raut river
• Involving schools and NGOs form Raut Basin into activities of water quality monitoring, cleaning campaigns of river banks;
• Strengthen capacities of the local authorities and other relevant stakeholders in the field of integrated water resources management to maintain the operation of the Raut River Basin Council in the future, by organizing training activities for the target groups of the project;
• Improve environmental education and promote a sustainable attitude to water resources and disseminate the results to all the population in the region and at the national level through Internet and with the help of mass media.
