Purpose

   Increase the knowledge and skills of project partners staff, relevant stakeholders and the general public to address the causes and consequences of pollution of soils and water in the Lower Danube region in order to eliminate the causes and minimize the consequences done in the Republic of Moldova

Main activities & Results

  • Elaboration of the promotional materials to be used during the public information campaign
  • General public information brochure regarding causes and consequences of soil and water pollution in the Lower Danube Region, and to identify measures to eliminate these causes and minimize the consequences.
  • Development of a training course manual
  • One thematic workshop for professional public within the Lower Danube Region raions from Moldova (Cahul and Cantemir) that shall present the monitoring and research methods available within the region, including survey and analytical methods, sampling and other environmental investigations and monitoring related to contract topic
  • Two-day thematic workshop for NGOs and general public related to proper solid waste management, about the causes and consequences of soil and water pollution in the Lower Danube Region, and to identify measures to eliminate these causes and minimize the consequences.
  • National workshop for business operators and authorities related to hazardous waste management in Moldova,
  • Public hearings event for local population on the Center for Hazardous Waste Management.
